The story behind the company

Changing the Way People See the Ocean

NAU Travel was born from a simple but powerful idea: the ocean is not something to fear - it’s something to understand, respect, and connect with.

In 2021, while traveling the world, founder Stefani Dimitrova saw how many people felt distant from the ocean or afraid of it. She realized how misunderstood the underwater world is, and how freeing and peaceful it can be, especially through freediving.

NAU exists to show people that the ocean is not only beautiful, but also approachable and worth protecting.

Exploring with Safety and While Learning

Every NAU expedition is built with care, guided by trusted freedivers and professionals to keep you safe while you explore.

We partner with local communities and experts in each location who share our values and know their waters best. Whether you're swimming with sharks, meeting mobulas, diving in caves, or exploring coastlines, you'll do it with awareness and support.

We believe freediving is one of the easiest and most natural ways to connect with the ocean - no big equipment, just your body, your breath, and full presence.

Giving Back to the Oceean

From the very beginning, NAU Travel has been focused on more than just adventure - we’re here to help protect the ocean for future generations.

That’s why we’re working toward a clear goal: by 2035, we aim to donate 40% of our company profits to ocean conservation projects.

Each booking directly supports this mission. With your help, we’re turning travel into a force for good-one dive at a time.

Created by Stefani Dimitrova, NAU Travel started with a strong idea: bring together freedivers and ocean lovers from around the world, and give them the chance to explore while also helping protect the sea.

There are many vital ocean conservation efforts in need of support, but limited resources to go around. That’s why we’ve chosen a mission that allows us to grow while giving back - scaling our company with the long-term goal of donating 40% of all profits to ocean conservation.

Our vision is to become the Patagonia of ocean travel, a purpose-driven platform rooted in transparency, impact, and community. This commitment drives our work every day, as we build a global network of individuals united by a shared responsibility to protect one of Earth’s most fragile ecosystems: the ocean.

Whether it’s ending the captivity of marine animals, restoring coral reefs, cleaning coastlines, or taking a stand against whale slaughter and shark finning, we believe that every action, no matter how small, matters. And through education, collaboration, and responsible travel, we aim to turn
awareness into lasting impact.
